Ville Taajamaa
SDG Manager at the City of Espoo | Finland
Ville Taajamaa is the SDG Manager at the city of Espoo and the Lead Partner for Cities for Sustainability Governance URBACT Network. Being passionate about holistic and systemic long-term sustainability, he addresses both short- and long-term challenges on a local, national, and global level with the aim of achieving ecological, economic, and social (SDG) goals, and to build long-term resilience. This can only be done by working together, Ville claims. This is why he is working his way through the whole community with peer-to-peer learning with other cities and collaborations with citizens, companies, NGO’s, the education sector, and research. Of course, he also includes the youth. It’s essential to incorporate them in discussions about the future. June 2023 also sees the launch of a new URBACT IV network: Cities for Sustainability Governance. This is where a league of nine European cities will collaborate to span the boundaries of urban governance and so much more…!
