Timo Hämäläinen is a geographer who is part independent consultant in urban policy, part guerrilla planner and thought leader in contemporary urbanism. In his work, Timo engages in research & analysis, strategic policy development and advocacy projects to help cities and the public sector to tackle urban themes ranging from public participation to smart mobility and urban planning. Timo's blog 'From Rurban to Urban' has been chosen among the 'best city blogs around the world' by the Guardian and his DIY planning & architecture collective created an alternative city-wide masterplan to promote smarter planning in Helsinki. Today, Timo also works with the development of floating swimming pool complexes which are aimed to rejuvenate urban waterfronts.
