Despite not being a millennial or digital native, Thomas N. Canguilhem is in love with emojis, as he strongly believes that one picture can express much more than a thousand words. What else he is in love with are so-called “Nature Based Solutions” such as sustainable forestry, the heart of his company EcoTree. Thomas is convinced that those solutions are THE path to tackle our most challenging issues, climate change and biodiversity collapse, since Mother Nature is demonstrating genuinely sustainable, even sometimes ultra-complex ecosystems. So why shouldn’t humans try to replicate that in their own most complex ecosystems: cities?
