Supriya Garikipati

Associate Professor in Gender & Development at University of Liverpool | UK
Dr. Supriya Garikipati has a PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge, UK. Her main research interest is in evaluating the impact of public policy interventions on income and health related outcomes with a focus on gender. She is also interested in studying influences of institutional factors on women’s agency, particularly the influence of patriarchy and social networks. She has been combining the use of quantitative and qualitative methods of analysis for over 15 years and is experienced in the use of a variety of techniques, including experimental statistics. Her research is funded by UKRI, KRCC, ESRC, British Academy, Newton Trust and DFID among others and is published in some of the top area journals. Her award-winning policy impact work has been recognised as ‘world leading’ by UK’s research excellence framework. She is currently an Associate Professor Economics at the University of Liverpool where she also teaches in this area.
