Steve Scott believes communities are at their very best when they are connected, resilient, productive, and inspired. As co-founder of GHD Advisory in EMEA and the EMEA lead for Future Communities at GHD, this is an objective he aims to fulfil. With roles that include supporting the overall growth of GHD in the region, leading their global Future Communities transformation programme in EMEA, and developing thought leadership around place-based approaches towards net zero outcomes, Steve approaches increasingly complex challenges with sophisticated, integrated engineering solutions. One programme, Future Communities, is his commitment to helping clients achieve the right balance of key enablers, and to deliver on what’s needed to create thriving places and spaces that put people first. With an unwavering focus on the human experience of places and spaces – what Steve calls a ‘people first’ approach – he partners with clients to deliver elevated outcomes that support sustainable, successful communities. In his session at Urban Future, Steve will share his understanding of how it’s possible to differentiate and help clients deliver better places by putting people first and challenging the way cities and urban places work.
