Sascha Haselmayer trained as an architect and is a serial social entrepreneur, author, speaker, and lecturer at leading institutions. He has advised leading philanthropies, transnational organisations, and think tanks, and through the organisations he established, Sascha has helped 150 global cities solve problems in new ways. With Citymart, for example, he created a new approach to city procurement that opened up local spending to tens of thousands of social entrepreneurs, community organisations, and innovators in Barcelona, Lagos, New York City, Rio de Janeiro, London and many others. Sascha serves on the board of the social entrepreneurship network in Germany and is a Partner at Ashoka Innovators for the Public, where he helps realise the vision of creating a world where everyone is a changemaker. He is author of “The Slow Lane: Why Quick Fixes Fail and How to Achieve Real Change” and in 2011, he was awarded the prestigious Ashoka Fellowship. In 2020, Sascha also became a New America Fellow and a non-resident Fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
