Reena Mahajan
Founder at Studio Divercity | France
Reena Mahajan is an urban planner and passionate advocate for transforming car-centric sprawl into people-centred, nature-positive cities. With nearly 2 decades of experience in sustainable urban design, she founded Studio Divercity to blend architecture, water-sensitive design, sustainable mobility, and gender-responsive planning into powerful, holistic solutions.
Inspired by her journey as a new parent, Reena champions walkable, bike-friendly cities where children can move freely and safely. In 2021 she launched the game-changing #MontevideoPacificada campaign, pushing for policy change and igniting a shift in street culture in Uruguay’s capital, which now boasts a growing bike lane network.
Now, diving into entrepreneurship, she is developing Streetsmart, a digital platform that aims to revolutionise street design. Currently based in Paris, she is leading the charge on water-sensitive cities, striving to reshape urban spaces to prioritise people, nature, and the future of our cities.
