Ramón González is an architect and urbanist working in the Urban Studies Department of Strategic Planning Office at Madrid City Council. He leads projects for the implementation of new hybrid spaces in the suburbs of the city, which seek to foster new urban nodes as leading elements for proximity, local life, economy, sustainability, and identity. Ramón also works on the “Madrid 15-minute City” project, the purpose of which is to analyse the current situation of the city: it evaluates proximity and defines a wide variety of strategies intended to improve it. In particular, Ramón is interested in the leading role that cities must assume in order to face the massive economic, social, and environmental challenges of the coming decades.
