Philipp Bouteiller

Philipp Bouteiller is a strong promoter of Berlin as the capital of freedom, tolerance, and innovation, and has been named as one of the most impactful global leaders on Smart Cities for his work on sustainable urban innovation strategies in the areas of smart mobility, intelligent infrastructure, urban renewable energy, and future city design. After several years, as senior consultant with McKinsey, where he specialised in high-tech and the telecommunication, information, media and electronics (TIME) industries, Philipp founded and built several companies in the digital space. In his former role as CEO of Tegel Projekt – a municipal company from the State of Berlin – he was responsible for the largest redevelopment project around urban technologies in Europe, converting an entire former inner-city airport into a central hub for future industries. Now at Artprojekt, he leads the next phase of urban development with a focus on three challenges of our greatest challenges: sustainable food, sustainable building, and exponential health. He holds a PhD in International Management and Social Psychology from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and has a professorship for digital business and smart cities at the XU – Exponential University of Applied Sciences in Potsdam.
