Pepijn Duijvestein

Regenerative Retail Kickstarter & Partnerships Director at UPSIDE CLUB TJIKKO | Netherlands

Pepijn Duijvestein is a serial hands-on change-maker, so maybe it’s no surprise that he was described by the New York Times as a “crazy sustainable experiment bunny”. Value-driven with a strong focus on community-based regenerative developments, Pepijn’s passion is creating solutions for climate challenges together with communities and businesses. He is well known for founding New Economy, an award-winning practice for SME regenerative strategies. New Economy specialises in developing and calculating alternative business models by providing a visionary yet practical framework for organisations wanting to take sustainability to the next level. But that’s not all! Pepijn also co-developed Amsterdam’s famous floating community ‘Schoonschip’, where he even built his own biobased houseboat! His entrepreneurial spirit has led him to start several other initiatives, too. Such as the Upside Club – a regenerative retail concept complete with an online platform where designers can source biobased materials – or his framework for building circular neighbourhoods, Cooperate.eco.
