Namrata Mehta

Innovation Consultant at UN-Habitat | Kenya
Namrata Mehta is fascinated by cities, “the most diverse, complex, and dynamic ecosystems we inhabit”. In personal and professional terms, she believes small and large actions alike create worthy change. Coordinating the Climate Smart Cities Challenge at UN-Habitat in Gaborone, Botswana, Namrata’s role as an Innovation Consultant sees her bring together a consortium of cities and partners to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emitted in and by our urban environments. She effectively employs open competition, new structures, and innovative methodologies to facilitate transition. But Namrata cares most of all about mobilising individuals and organisations to address our hardest challenges. She compares herself to a potter, shaping systems that are more representative, sustainable, and ultimately better for us all.
