As the City Environment and Natural Resources Officer, Mercedita Guerrero makes sure that the environment and natural resources within the territorial jurisdiction of the city of Dipolog is properly protected and managed. Conducting environmental awareness and advocacy on topics such as climate change, solid waste management, forest protection and management, biodiversity protection and management, among others, and implementing programs and projects on these areas are, she believes, of great contribution to the resiliency and sustainability of her city. Mercedita is all about collaboration as she claims that partnering with and/or engaging the stakeholders, such as other government agencies, private institutions, civil society organisations, and the residents in the communities are proven to highly contribute to achieving the programs/projects' goals.
