Martha Marisa Wanat

Co-founder of Next Generation Academy | Germany & Mexico

Martha Marisa Wanat is a political entrepreneur, sustainable mobility expert, speaker, and author. She is founder (and former managing partner) of 'MOND – Mobility New Designs' and the 'Society for Urban Mobility BICICLI', which won the 'German Bicycle Award', the 'Future Mobility Award' (Tagesspiegel), and the 'Innovation Award of the German Trade'. In 2022, her first book 'Bewegt Euch. Selber!' ('Move. Yourselves!') was published: a scientific, political and entrepreneurial manifesto for an eco-systemically thinking city of self-movement. As part of the founding team of Next Generation Academy, a value-driven education and consulting collective by and for the next generation of sustainable urban development, Martha leads strategy, cooperation and partnerships. Since the beginning of August 2023, she has been living in Mexico City for the sake of research at Universidad Autónoma Nacional de México, to further develop the educational approach of Next Generation Academy. Looking at the historic and current relationships and co-dependencies that science has established with politics, economy and the social, she is working on the potentials of interactional expertise and transformative knowledge to navigate our urban societies collectively and confidently to a better future. She is also a talented singer of multiple styles and a passionate lover of contemporary art.
