For some, public spaces are just public spaces, but when seen through the eyes of Maria Matos Silva, public space design has a huge potential when it comes to battling climate change and accommodating natural processes like floods. Maria is a Landscape Architect and works as Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA), University of Lisbon, where she teaches courses of project and urbanism. Currently, Maria is focusing on a research project that aims to contribute towards new pathways of public space design for uncertainty that methodologically integrates community involvement and green infrastructure.
