Malene Freudendal-Pedersen is Professor in Urban Planning at Aalborg University, Campus Copenhagen in Denmark. Her work is strongly inspired by and focuses on the transition to sustainable mobilities and its impact on everyday life, communities, societies, and cities.

With an interdisciplinary background linking sociology, geography, urban planning, and the sociology of technology, Malene heads the Planning for Urban Sustainability (PLUS) research group. She has authored two books (Mobility in Daily Life, Between Freedom and Unfreedom; Making Mobilities Matter) and her research currently relates to the 15 minute city, storytelling, and everyday life transitions.
