Chief Operating Officer at Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation | Switzerland

Lorena Zemp is the Chief Operating Officer at the Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation (GIB), where she supports the implementation and coordination of all the organisation’s programmes and projects. Previously, as Program Director, Lorena managed the development, implementation, and coordination of the SuRe® certification programme on sustainable infrastructure. Additionally, Lorena represents GIB as a speaker in local and international events and coordinates gender mainstreaming internally. She is a specialist in standardisation and social regulation with a particular expertise in labour standards. Formerly, Lorena worked for the International Labour Organization (ILO) of the United Nations as technical monitoring and evaluation officer in the SCORE programme. This had the aim of improving working conditions in SMEs in nine developing countries. Lorena has a business and financial background, having worked in corporate banking and impact investment in Canada, Mexico, and Switzerland.
