Laura Parker-Tong represents the European Community Land Trust Network. This exciting initiative gives a voice to the 300+ Community Land Trusts throughout Europe. CLTs own and develop land for the benefit of their community. A proven model for high-quality and permanently affordable housing, they are ready to be scaled across the continent. Previously, Laura worked as a UK civil servant as Head of the Local Growth Funding team with the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government. She led policy design of billion-pound funding programmes to support local places across the UK to invest in communities, place-making, local businesses, and skills. This included the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which succeeds EU structural funds. During COVID-19 she also worked as a senior policy adviser on the UK’s social distancing regulations. Prior to Laura’s government experience, she worked as an economic analyst at Ernst & Young, where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Laura has an undergraduate degree in Geography, a master’s in Urban Studies, and a post-graduate certificate in Leadership.
