Kate Armstrong is a champion of data. Being part of the facilitation team for Fab City, Kate’s time in Barcelona – when not munching on Tim Tams! – is spent shifting the linear industrial Product-in-Trash-Out paradigm to quality Data-In-Data-Out. Unconventionally, this she does by putting productive cities and citizens at the heart of urban transformation. Fab City is a network of 41 cities and regions, plus a collective of stewards, and a foundation for which Kate sits on the Management Board. This distributed (global) community works together to reintroduce production to cities at multiple scales via knowledge and data sharing. Kate’s aim is to digitally enable local, inclusive circular processes and move production along from traditional to emergent practices.
