Kaisa-Reeta Koskinen works as a Head of Climate unit and leads the climate mitigation and adaptation activities at the City of Helsinki, Finland. She has an extensive background in energy management, EU-policies, and strategy work. Kaisa-Reeta previously served in various governmental posts, in the business sector, and Greenpeace. Her main focus is to make sure that Helsinki reaches its ambitious climate goals: carbon neutral by 2030 and carbon zero by 2040. She loves numbers and peer reviewed research, which explains why Kaisa-Reeta concentrates on verified, non-nonsense climate actions only. Her motto is: “Fail fast and fail better” – she is therefore, in her own words, very open about what she did wrong and what did not work, which she sees as a valuable learning opportunity.
