Jenny Rydén

Project Manager at the City of Varberg | Sweden
Jenny Rydén works as a project manager and head of sustainability in one of the largest urban development projects in the municipality of Varberg, Sweden. She holds a master's degree in product development from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm where, during a lecture in Ecodesign and the Ten Golden Rules, that her interest and focus shifted from industry to sustainable development. A decade down the road, Jenny still has a passionate commitment to the sustainability issues that have characterised her career. Not least as she works with Varberg’s urban development projects that pose complex challenges in all areas of urban sustainability. Currently, she is developing a seaside city district amid constantly changing climate conditions and analysing the planning in terms of social consequences. For Jenny, an important part of working with social sustainability is the various forms of dialogues, both with citizens and partners. For this, she works closely with the project’s head of communications and other departments to find new ways of meeting people and to form strategies to ensure feedback and incorporation of the dialogue into the planning process.
