Gregory Saville

Founder of SafeGrowth Network | USA

Gregory Saville is a criminologist and urban planner specialising in helping residents create neighbourhoods of livability and safety. After a decade as a Canadian police officer, he taught a new method for reducing violence and victimisation called crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED). He then helped co-create the International CPTED Association in 1996. In 2007, Greg expanded those concepts into a new planning system called SafeGrowth based on his book by the same name. He currently runs the SafeGrowth Network, a global coalition of thought-leaders and advocates who work to promote SafeGrowth as a new philosophy of sustainable city-building in the 21st Century.
