Geiske Bouma is a leading figure in bringing Dutch cities closer to climate neutrality – and they’re doing it on the ground, together! In their role as a Senior Researcher and Advisor for Urban Innovation with TNO Vector, Geiske is responsible for developing new approaches for co-creation with a portfolio of leading climate neutral and smart cities across Europe. By employing learning loops and reflective monitoring, and bringing together various stakeholders with diverse perspectives and knowledge, Geiske informs action research and connect theory with practice to give very real urban innovations a thrust. Geiske reminds us that systemic change requires a shift in perspective, “beyond silos and sectors” to co-creation and coordination. Here’s the chance for curious parties to hear how other cities and countries are dealing with this challenge, what knowledge it requires, and what changes organisations need to strive for to make it all happen.
