Clara Muzzio is Minister of Public Space and Urban Hygiene in Buenos Aires. She believes in the transformative power of public spaces and their relevance to urban life. Clara has been helping in the shaping of her City’s public space for over 10 years, aiming to improve its accessibility, walkability and overall quality with a ‘human scale’ approach.
More recently, she has undertaken the task to improve the general condition of the sidewalks of Buenos Aires. With half of the 320.000 city’s sidewalks in poor condition, they have established a new way to deal with the built environment regarding planning, prioritization and carry out of public utility’s repairs and sidewalk maintenance. Clara says that it is a real privilege to have the possibility to influence the public policies that shape her city, and she looks forward to keeping on doing her best.
