Alenka Korenjak co-founded Slovenian urban design studio, Prostorož, which for 20 years has been transforming streets into squares, revitalising construction sites, and involving city residents in shaping their surroundings.
As an architect, Alenka has a deep knowledge and understanding of urban development, which she uses to tackle the environmental and social challenges faced by cities at all scales. She focuses on overlooked public areas and green spaces, explores new uses for old buildings, and implements interventions and temporary projects to shape neighbourhoods that meet the needs of citizens and visitors.
Her practice, which is also based on spatial research, fosters stronger, more vibrant, thriving urban communities, ultimately making cities more accessible to all, offering a higher quality of life, social vitality, and environmental responsibility.
