Nikita Shetty

UK & Ireland Lead at BABLE Smart Cities | Germany

Nikita Shetty leads the UK & Irish operations of BABLE and is a senior Consultant in Smart Places. She is adept at collaborating with municipal representatives, researchers, and the private sector to identify innovative ways to solve urban challenges and has almost a decade of experience in multi-stakeholder, cross-sectoral project management. Formerly a researcher in urban systems development with the Fraunhofer Research Society, Nikita has also worked on electric and hybrid vehicles at Tata Motors. She has participated in projects throughout Europe, the UK, and India, identifying how existing technology can be adapted to solve local challenges and to ensure sustainable economic development. Working with 1,000 global talents on the Urban Sustainability Network of the global innovation lab, UNLEASH, Nikita develops solutions that aim to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals. She is part of the founding team of the World Economic Forum-supported Global Shapers Hub in Stuttgart, is a trained Climate Reality Leader, and a PMP® certified project manager. Nikita holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s in Management and Engineering of Energy and Environment during which she focussed on smart and sustainable urban development.
